I’ve been battling a cold all weekend, which has made me slightly miserable. I often find I feel better if I get some fresh air. So yesterday I hit the Saint Lawrence market in the morning and bought some quail and fresh local veggies for a new recipe I tried (Not worth trying it a second time…). This afternoon, after spending time at the office catching up on some small things, I took the Queen streetcar out to Leslieville to scope out a new coffee shop: Te-Aro.
If you’re in the area (and there are tons of reasons to make the trip) check it out. While I still prefer the roast at Balzac’s in the Distillery, Te-Aro’s on-site, air-roasted beans have a crisp taste about them that is surprisingly refreshing. It compliments the huge patio (huge for a coffee shop) which gets a healthy dose of sun. Their heated bacon avocado tomato sandwich tasted great, and was the perfect pick-me up.
